Therapeutic Relationships

The therapeutic relationship is founded on the basis of confidentiality. Important elements of therapy are the rapport and trust between the client and the counsellor and the willingness to work towards change. With these conditions in place the process of growth is likely to occur.

Counselling is about providing you with a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment to enable you to explore and express your feelings.

Counselling involves taking responsibility for your life, discovering what you want and working with and accepting all parts of yourself. Through gaining insight into experiences, relationships and behaviours, you can greatly improve your acceptance of self and others allowing you to lead a more fulfilling life.

Counselling can set you on a journey of self discovery and the counsellor’s role is to accompany the client on that journey. Counselling helps us to create a better future by dealing with the past and the present, by changing outmoded ways and patterns of behaviour, letting go of painful feelings and allowing them to be healed.
