Clinical supervision
Clinical supervision is a BACP requirement for qualified therapists as well as trainee counsellors. BACP guidelines* state 1.5 hours per month minimum is recommended, or a ratio of 8 hours counselling to 1 hour supervision per month, with the trainee to see the supervisor fortnightly. It is also a requirement for accreditation that the minimum be kept up.
I trained at the CPPD Counselling School in London and hold a Diploma in Clinical Supervision (integrative approach). I have experience of working with supervisees from all modalities including, person centred, Gestalt, existential, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I supervise individuals who are at various stages of their training and who have varied counselling experience, both in group settings and one to one.
